Dennis from Mako Eyewear and I shot out for a quick flick after work yesterday. We had planned on trying to get some Snapper, but with the massive swell that’s been hanging around the east coast lately we shifted our attention to some Bream in the Feelfree Kayak‘s Lure 13.5’s.
We ducked down to a local closed estuary system that we visited a few weeks back and on the first cast I hooked up, then the second cast I hooked up again and it wasn’t long before I got my 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th fish which happened over the space of an hour and a half.
Here’s quick clip showing how quickly these fish were onto the plastics once they hit the water. I was using an Abu Garcia MGX20 on a Abu Salty Stage light rod with 4.4lb Fireline Exceed, 4lb leader and a 1/40th hidden weight with a 2.5″ Jackal Super Cross Tail Shad.
