South Coast Land Locked Estuary

Both Wes and I had work commitments this weekend but with an hour or 2 to spare on Sunday afternoon, we decided to go check out a little estuary that we’d been checking out on Google Earth for the past couple of weeks. It’s land locked due to a build up of sand where the mouth meets the beach, and with a bit of a goat track in and with expectations of it being fairly shallow, we took the kayaks for a paddle to see what the fishing was like.

Hey fellas, yakked this system about 6 months ago,
Launched at the same spot, using a variety of cranks, soft grubs and minnows, the system never produced anything bigger than what you pulled up in your video, ive fished it on a number of occasions and the same result.

Hey Rhys, was our first time here and wont be our last. We fish offshore from there for our Snapper regularly. It’s great to find little spots like this and there are heaps dotted up and down the coast!
